I absolutely looove this smoothie, and it has become one of my main breakfasts these past few months. When I recently found myself to be gluten intolerant I found it exceptionally difficult to replace my favourite breads especially for breakfast ;( This recipe cheered up my morning blues and definitely gave me the satisfaction and contentment I was looking for, both in taste and fullness throughout the day.Since moving to the UAE, we found it easier and much more economical to buy fresh fruit and veg in bulk. I wash it, chop it and separate into freezable portions suitable for my family size. So here I have used frozen fruits that also give the smoothie a much thicker texture and colder taste.

Total Time 5 minutesmins
Equipment
1 Blender
Ingredients
1banana (chopped)mine was frozen
1cupchopped strawberriesmine was frozen
2tblspnatural or Greek yoghurt
3/4tblsppure organic honey(optional for added sweetness)
1cup100% pure freshly squeezed or pulped orange juice. Just enough to slightly cover the ingredients while in the blender
Ice cubes, as desired
Instructions
Wash & chop the fruit if they are fresh and place them in the blender.
Add the natural yoghurt and honey followed by the freshly squeezed 100% orange juice (with no added sugar) just until the ingredients are slightly covered.
Add some ice cubes if desired
Blend until smooth.
(note that at least one of the ingredients must be frozen for the full taste, if not one of the fruits then the yoghurt)
If you are using all frozen fruits you won't need ice cubes and I find it easier to let them sit in the juice for a few minutes before starting the blending.
